Futurecity is a pioneer in commissioning art for the public realm that redraws the boundaries between art and society. We identify the cultural DNA of a place, and build culture into new developments from the outset, envisioning a coaling jetty as a pop-up theatre or a bridge as a sculpture to be crossed.
From Richard Wilson RA’s monumental sculpture in Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2, a pioneering interactive digital artwork by Random International at the Albert Embankment, to artists such as Ryan Gander influencing an entire landscape for the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and Mariele Neudecker’s audio-visual piece embedded within the lifts at Guy’s Cancer Centre, the public artworks we commission work across varied scales.
