Futurecity opened a Cambridge office in 2010 to support a bespoke approach to commissioning arts and culture across the city’s changing urban environment. We work with Cambridge’s unique offer across the arts, culture, science, technology, and sustainability to create authentic, imaginative new places.

Futurecity develops collaborative relationships between clients, the creative industries sector (artists, designers, craftspeople), science and technology, culture, education, planning and policy. We work with Cambridge’s cultural organisations to champion creative projects that are transforming the built environment as a place to experience exciting culture.

A broad range of cutting edge placemaking projects are embracing history and heritage, archaeology, architecture, biodiversity, energy conservation, technology, and community development to deliver inspiring projects integrated into the fabric of new working, living and caring environments. The projects combine large scale physical artworks with genuine long term community engagement and dialogue between residents, workers and visitors.

Over the last 9 years we have delivered 23 projects, with 32 artists, for 12 clients at 14 project sites across 150 hectares of development land.
