Skystation by Peter Newman is an interactive public sculpture, inspired by Le Corbusier’s LC4 chaise-longue, that also acts as a piece of public seating. The contours of the work fit the reclining human form and encourage contemplation of the vast expanse of space above. Futurecity delivered a community engagement programme for Miller Homes working with King’s Hedges School and North Cambridge Academy. It involved a series of creative community workshops, engaging local children, teenagers and adults, led by Flour. The project featured the first permanent installation of the interactive public sculpture Skystation.
