As curators of the project, Futurecity are fiercely proud to announce Slipstream’s win at last night’s Marsh Awards. It is an enormous honour for everyone involved and we would like to congratulate Richard Wilson, Heathrow, Price & Myers and Commercial Systems International for their hard-work and commitment.

At 78 metres long, Richard Wilson’s Slipstream is one of the longest sculptures in Europe. Combining precision engineering with the sense of velocity and movement of a stunt plane, Slipstream welcomes 20 million visitors per year to London via the new Luis Vidal designed Terminal 2.

Slipstream provides a landmark cultural marker for Heathrow, for London and for the UK, in the grand entranceway to the new Queens Terminal.
