Heather and Ivan Morison have created a focal point artwork for the heart of Great Kneighton. The monumental roundwood sculpture “Bronze House” sits at the centre of Hobson’s Square, Trumpington in Cambridge, referencing the Bronze Age archeology found on the site.
Standing at almost nine metres (29ft 6in) high, “Bronze House” took five years to complete. The sculpture is designed in collaboration with landscape architects Place Design + Planning. It uses discoveries from a 3,500-year-old Middle Bronze Age settlement as its foundations, and imagines future and past architectures and the importance of timber in our formation of dwellings.
The artists have also been commissioned to create artworks for the Community Centre located in the square.
