Futurecity was delighted to attend Wemba’s Dream at Wembley Park on Sunday. A true community celebration in Wembley Park!

George Kekatos – Senior Cultural Strategist at Futurecity said: “It was truly fulfilling and breathtaking to witness the performance, a really creative mix of professional and amateur performers, a tribute to collaboration with the community, coming together to create something truly memorable, and huge diverse audience of all ages in attendance, immersed and engaged in the procession and performance – and all of this happening in the most unexpected place… an empty car park!

Special congratulations to Josh McNorton, Cultural Director of Wembley Park, Wembas Dream was everything one could wish to see when developing a placemaking strategy and it was a privilege being there!”

Futurecity’s Cultural Placemaking Strategy for Wembley Park was a comprehensive road map focused on creating new Creative District for West London and Brent. The ground-breaking partnership of #WembleyPark with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has created a triangular relationship between the developer Quintain Limited, the RPO and the Brent community.

Congratulations to everyone involved, Composer Dani Howard, Sujata Banerjee Dance Company, guitarist Trevor Brown, Word up Up Spoken Word, St Michael and All Angels Steel Pans, Mahogany Carnival Arts and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
