Futurecity ran a competition and commissioned this sculpture of poet Sir John Betjeman sited on the main concourse of St Pancras Station, accompanied by hand-carved roundels containing extracts of his poetry. The sculpture pays homage to the man instrumental in the fight to save St Pancras when it came under threat of demolition in 1966. The judging panel included Betjeman’s daughter Candida Lycett-Green and Prof. Brian Falconbridge, President of the RBS.
