Futurecity is a proud partner of the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair as an excellent example of cultural-led regeneration and an affordable way to encourage collection of art pieces. Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair is the only fair in London to deal solely in contemporary printmaking, and the largest of its kind in the UK, set in the impressive former cartridge factory at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich.
With over 500 specialist artists and exhibitors, WCPF celebrates every aspect of printmaking – from etching and lithography, to woodblock and screen-printing, exciting emerging talent sits alongside established practitioners such as Grayson Perry, Tracey Emin and Norman Ackroyd RA. The accompanying programme of activities and events led by industry experts offer visitors of all ages an insight into the practice of printmaking and what to look for when starting to build their own collection.
As part of the WCPF programme, Futurecity Partner, Sherry Dobbin, will be one of the moderators for a talk on Thursday 7 November titled ‘Culture, Identity & Regeneration,’ which brings together civic, cultural and development leaders in discussion.
Futurecity strategists will be capturing the session and then summarising the discussion in a short paper that reflects the better understanding of how our individual and collective identities can be expressed through the social and physical fabric of new development as a result of the discussion.
