Two Futurecity exhibitions featuring world-class photographers Davide Levene and Steve McCurry are going to be extended until the end of the month due to popular demand.
Earlier in 2014 Futurecity was appointed lead curator and gallery director of the Gallery at Foyles, a new gallery of the word at Foyles’ Charing Cross location. The first exhibition held in the space has featured Turner prize winning artist Mark Titchner (June – August 2014) who created a unique single artwork – a monolith to the poetic resonance of the word. The second and current exhibition presents a selection of Eyewitness photographs by Guardian photographer David Levene.
The other Futurecity exhibition features National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry, who was commissioned to document the creative people and places of London’s South Bank area. CIT appointed Futurecity to conceive and curate a cultural collaboration project that revealed the rich character of the South Bank and uncover the creative minds that contribute to what makes the district so authentic. This has resulted in a publication, alongside the ‘People & Places’ exhibition at Southbank Tower.
