Artist’s commissioned by Futurecity for Cambridge based schemes have been travelling the globe giving speeches, receiving awards and presenting exhibitions. After winning the the 2012 Curry Stone Design Prize for Social Design Pioneers, Jeanne Van Heeswijk, working in Cambridge at Great Kneighton, spoke at the Design Indaba Conference 2013 in Cape Town.

Meanwhile Jennifer Tee, working on Cambridge tallest residential scheme, The Marque, in the centre of the city, was recently awarded a major art commission for the new Amsterdam Centraal Metro station, and will be opening a new solo exhibition in Dublin this September.

Also from Futurecity’s cultural programme at Great Kneighton, Welsh artist Sean Edwards was recently awarded the 2013 Creative Wales Ambassador Award from the Welsh arts council and has a new exhibition opening at Chapter in Cardiff on 29 July 2013,and both Simon & Tom Bloor and Heather & Ivan Morison have been completing artist in residencies at Whitechapel Gallery in London.

Finally, Lucy Skaer, who is working with Futurecity to create a 100 metre ‘sentence’ of artwork embedded in stone at Cambridge Riverside, is opening an exhibition of new work at Yale Union in Portland, Oregon.
