Futurecity Presents LDN WMN, a collaboration between City Hall and Tate Collective at The Gallery at Foyles
Private View: 6th March, 6-9PM
Open: 7th March – 28th April 2019

LDN WMN was curated by Tate Collective in collaboration with Mayor of London. The project originated as a series of free public artworks across London, created by women and non-binary artists, inspired by unsung women heroes from the city’s history.

In honour of International Women’s Day, Futurecity has curated a presentation of LDN WMN for the Gallery at Foyles celebrating the legacy of the artworks. By re-imagining public space LDN WMN gave voice to women throughout history who have remained largely unknown for their contributions to shaping the city.

LDN WMN was part of Mayor Sadiq Khan’s 2018 #BehindEveryGreatCity campaign, which marked 100 years since the first women won the right to vote in the UK.

Please join us in celebrating the commissioned artists: Susi Disorder, Soofiya, Soheila Sokhanvari, Manjit Thapp, Jasmin Kaur Sehra, Jacob V Joyce, CJ Mahony, Caroline Cardus, Carleen de Sözer, Heather Agyepong, Lakwena, Phoebe Collings-James, Rudy Loewe, Rene Matic, Julia Vogl, Joy Miessi, Joey Yu, Mamamanvz, Shadi Al-Atallah, Stephanie K Kane and Wood Street Walls.
