Arts and culture in England: funding, participation and priorities for Arts Council England’s new strategy

Westminster Media Forum seminar will consider the future for arts and culture in England, with a focus on funding, participation and technology. Delegates will discuss priorities for Arts Council England’s next ten year strategy for 2020-30 – with their first formal consultation recently launched to inform its development.

Futurecity Cultural Director Sherry Dobbin will be speaking on the topic of Next steps for driving innovation and exploiting new technologies: experimentation, data and creative collaboration, alongside Professor Ross Parry, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Digital), School of Museum Studies, University of Leicester & Chris Michaels, Digital Director, National Gallery.

Further sessions will explore how the sector is adapting to, and utilising, new technologies, and consider next steps for driving innovation – looking at the development of next generation audiences and practitioners, challenges for fostering a culture of experimentation and collaboration, and opportunities for monetisation.
