On Tuesday night, the Committee for Sydney launched the ‘Sydney Culture Essays‘, a new publication to capture the thinking of some of the leading voices in Sydney’s cultural life. Sydney’s culture combines a heady mix of spectacular landscape, Indigenous and colonial heritage, leading cultural institutions and festivals, multicultural fabric and unique neighbourhoods—each with their own distinctive character and history, equating to a cultural offer that is world-class. The essayists tease out the debates and conversations shaping Sydney’s cultural landscape, navigating the role of culture for Sydneysiders and communicating our identity and potential to the world.

Futurecity collaborated with the Commitee for Sydney to produce and edit the essays and Mark Davy and Tim Jones contributed an essay to the publication titled “Sydney: City of Renewal“.
