Futurecity has been appointed by Knight Dragon to develop a Culture and Placemaking Strategy for the Greenwich Peninsula which Knight Dragon recently took full ownership of, following its recent buyout from Quintain.
Greenwich Peninsula is a 190-acre site which will become a vast new district for London with 10,000 residential units, 48 acres of green space, commercial and community provision. It is in a unique location close to Canary Wharf with river views on all sides and is home to some of London’s key cultural assets including the 02, the Emirates Air Line, Ravensbourne and sculptures commissioned for the Millennium by Richard Wilson and Antony Gormley.
Futurecity are working with Knight Dragon to explore a range of embedded art commissions across the site and a series of cultural projects and partnerships which will help to build a new identity for the Peninsula.
