In late 2016, Futurecity were part of a team of specialist consultants appointed by Stockland to join their bid to the NSW government for the Ivanhoe Estate.
Stockland were one of three developers invited by government to create a ground-breaking new approach to mixed living. The project will see the transformation of 259 social housing properties on the 8.2-hectare site into a socially integrated neighbourhood of around 3000 properties, including at least 950 social and 128 affordable rental apartments.
Futurecity worked closely with the design team to encourage creative visioning and on the ground opportunities to help define and guide the cultural components of the bid.
Futurecity completed a preliminary cultural audit of the area, and created a presentation detailing a high level vision for the development. This presentation included case studies focused on intergenerational living, vibrant cultural communities and best practice design in a global context.
